Cornerstone SF updateS

Summary as of Saturday, July 25:
Current San Francisco restrictions limit any church gatherings to 12 people or less, that they be located outdoors, and that singing not take place. Since this is not a better option than an online service, we will wait until larger gatherings are permissible.  Please check back here for any changes or updates.

Dear Cornerstone Family,

Who could have predicted a year like 2020?

From what so many of you have shared, the burden has been heavy for our community this year.

From what we have seen together, our church has rallied to serve and love one another in beautiful ways.

From what we know in faith and confidence, the Lord has been, is, and will always be in control.

As we make our way toward the end of the summer, we wanted to update you on where things are at with the continuing state of the pandemic. Many of you have wondered when we will gather, wondered if we’ll open soon, or what the plans are for the online services on that eventual day.

San Francisco’s reopening plan has been on pause since June. With the new spike in cases, the Mayor and Public Health Office have opted for a slower, more cautious route. We’ve kept a close eye on the timelines for reopening and we’ve been intently prayerful in seeking God’s wisdom to guide us. The City currently permits religious services to gather outdoors with a limit of 12 people, with masks and social distance.

Although this is a starting point, it’s not one we feel provides a better experience than our many online offerings. As such, we will wait until it’s deemed safe to gather in larger groups.

We know that this feels endless, and the reality is that we are not sure when things will change. We do know that our community has transitioned so smoothly to being an online church, and we will continue to work together as a body to stay connected, thriving, and at peace.

For now, here’s a breakdown of many weekly ways to stay connected and thriving in faith from home. Let’s stay prayerful, committed to our loving Father, and strengthen one another!

If you have any questions, you can respond directly to this email and a member of the staff will get back to you.

In His love,

The CornerstoneSF staff

P.S. If you are new and haven’t gotten connected yet, please let us know! We’d love to get to know you.
